A driver who died when his truck crashed into the Colorado River in Mesa County has been identified.

Mark Belt, 33, of Edgewater, died when his truck ran off Interstate 70 and crashed on Friday Nov. 22, according to the Mesa County Coroner’s Office.

“The cause of death is drowning and the manner of death is (an) accident,” the coroner said in a Tuesday news release.

It’s unclear if Belt was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. His blood alcohol level was 0.246, the coroner’s office said. The legal limit for drivers in Colorado is 0.08.

The Colorado State Patrol is investigating the crash.
