Dive teams are currently attempting to reach a vehicle that ended up in the Colorado River after crashing over a guard rail last Friday. Colorado State Patrol (CSP) did not confirm the identity or condition of the person(s) involved.

The accident occurred around 11 p.m. on Friday, November 22. CSP believes the vehicle to be a pickup truck.

Local Search and Rescue tried to contact the vehicle but were unable to remove it from the water.

Witnesses say the vehicle was traveling westbound on I-70 when it hit the guardrail and went into the river. It was pulling a camper trailer that stayed on the road.

We will continue to provide updates to this story.
